NASA Shuttle Atlantis and its team of 6 are scheduled to launch at 2:28 p.m Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) today to put Atlantis on course for docking at the International Space Station just by 12 p.m Wednesday.

The Launch Day for Atlantis
The STS-129 mission will be commanded by Charles O. Hobaugh and it is been piloted by Barry E. Wilmore. The Mission Specialists are Robert L. Satcher Jr., Mike Foreman, Randy Bresnik and Leland Melvin. Wilmore, Satcher and Bresnik will be making their very first trips to space.
Atlantis and its team will deliver two control moment gyroscopes, equipment and EXPRESS Logistics Carrier 1 and 2 to the International Space Station and the mission will feature 3 spacewalks.
The mission also will return station team member Nicole Stott to Earth and is slated to be the last space shuttle crew rotation flight.
